Gorgeous!!!

This is such a beautiful amber scent! It has the DNA of Eau des Merveilles - this characteristic sparking, spicy, balsamic quality - but it is heavier on sweet amber. I wouldn't describe it as a dense, resinous fragrance; this is a gentle, almost translucent amber scent, that creates a longlasting scent bubble. L'Ambre des Merveilles is a smooth, warm and cosy perfume, very well balanced and blended to perfection. If you're looking for an 'easy-going' amber scent, L'Ambre des Merveilles could be a perfect choice.

not for me

This perfume was way too woody on me , It didn’t smell any different upon the dry down. Rather old lady like ! With the right body chemistry it would smell delightful !

One of my all-time favourite fragrances. This smells a little powdery on me but not at all in an unappealing way. The scent is so comforting and warm I’m sometimes tempted to wear it to bed. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a warm, luxurious, sweet but sophisticated perfume. The longevity is very impressive, like all other Hermes perfumes I’ve tried.

Love love love this.

I have gotten so many compliments while using this perfume! Even from kids! Some people tell me it smells like vanilla, others smell a morning flower field. I think it smells woodsy and warm. I got a huge bottle as a gift that lasted me over 2 years, and now I'm about to buy a new one. I was not a perfume wearer before but now I can't live without it. Is true that I can only smell it when I first apply it, but believe me, is still there hours later and others can detect it.

Has a spicy flavor and last longer. My friends did go Gaga about me smelling good. Wore it to work place and outing. Plus it doesn’t have a strong smell that could irritate anyone

A great everyday fall/winter scent

I have been experimenting with Amber based scents and this is my favorite so far. So far I have like all of the Hermes scents I have sampled, but I held off on getting any samples of this one due to the patch note. I am no lover of the patch. This settles into a nice mellow amber with a hint of vanilla sweetness. The patch note in this is very light to me. I know it is there, but it does not overpower as I have found in just about Any patch fragrance I have ever smelled. It really just seems to deepen and bring warmth to the amber note, taming the vanilla from reaching gourmand sweetness. I get a great longevity out of this, but that is true for all resin based scents (labdanum in this one) on me. The sillage on one spritz stays close to the skin and is acceptable for the office. Spraying more will increase it, but more than two will leave a scent trail.

salted caramel

Of all the Merveilles, this is the one I like the most. The saltiness that is almost overwhelming in the Eau and especially the Elixir is just sprinkled over this sweet, golden caramel fragrance. This is by far the most gourmand interpretation, and though it is fleeting, it's the most wearable.

Soft and beautiful

I was recommended this scent by one of the associates and I can't help but think he was spot on when choosing this. Not only does it sit perfectly with my skin but after a long day it still has that soft, sultry scent that I like when it's first sprayed. I don't like to stand out in the crowd but I love how the scent lingers in a room. It's sexy and soft.

Amazing scent! I'm in love!

I love this sexy rich scent. It is a classy addition to any woman's "usual" suspect in fragrance. Be prepare to get noticed with this one.

Most Magnificent Perfume

I have been obsessed with this perfume for two years. My husband recently gifted it to me and it is the most magnificent perfume, ever! I love amber and vanilla and this perfume has both, yet more. It's such a distinctive fragrance, although not matronly. This is my new signatures sent. Thank you! I love love love it!

Lovely scent

I really like this fragrance. It is soft, pretty, not floral, warm and enduring. After I tested it and got home I was worried it was a bit too sweet, but instead it's just light and perfect for spring/summer. (probably would work well in winter too!) I had a couple of Hermes scented selected, but I'm so glad I went with this one.

Delicious Obsession

This is the first time I've ever wanted to review a fragrance. I'm not a connoisseur by any stretch. I was in the market for a new signature fragrance after my love affair with Organza by Givenchy finally ended after 12+ years. . I would still be wearing Organza had it not been reformulated years ago. I just couldn't bring myself to buy it again. A wonderful Sephora salesperson in Chesterfield, MO recommended L'Ambre. I LOVE this fragrance! No, I'm Obsessed. I can't stop wanting to smell it. It's the type of aroma that I want to inhabit my clothes, my bathrobe, my bed linens, my scarfs, my blankets, my undies. My only issue with it is that after about a couple of hours, I no longer smell it. It becomes a skin scent that is only detectable up close. But the good thing about that is I can comfortably wear it to work and not feel like 'Pigpen' with a cloud of fragrance assaulting those around me. Yesterday at a meeting several people commented on it after they hugged me or got close. It's the perfect fragrance for introverts like me: it offers an understated, secret surprise reserved for those I allow to share my intimate space! It's soft, comforting, and familiar. Out of the 10 or so fragrance samples that' I've tested these last 6 weeks of my search, it was the only one that I literally missed when I could no longer detect it. I knew I was hooked when I started applying it at bedtime so I could enjoy it during my nighttime reading-in-bed ritual. What a lovely way to begin and end the day! Well done, Hermes! Looking forward to trying the others in this line and enjoying L'Ambre for years to come. By the way, will a lotion or smaller sizes be coming???

Absolutely gorgeous!

This is a stunning, unique fragrance. Radiant and elegant. The vanilla is divine combined with the amber; effervescent, warm, and animalic at the same time. I find this to be a lovely perfume for daily wear, it would work well as an office fragrance. It's not overpowering or offensive. But this is absolutely acceptable in the evening when you want something carnal yet inviting.
