Luminous Silk Acqua - Highlighter

Not a "MUST HAVE"

I'm tickled by the five-star reviews left for this product. It is overpriced and low value. The formula is drying with low, practically non-existent shimmer. The formula is drying. The packaging is basic. I highly recommend trying on in store. Do not.make a blind purchase!

Very glittery, lots of transfer, not impressed.

I dislike giving bad reviews, but I am disappointed with the product. I was sent one to review, but if I had purchased it I would return it, even if it were half the price. It is a lovely color, and the large doe-foot applicator is decent (though the Armani symbol is only on the front but when screwing the cap on there's a 50% chance it will end up in back, (which on one hand isn't the end of the world, but on the other is a bit tedious for a higher end product)). But it's the formula I don't really like. It is very glittery rather than shimmery, (which some people enjoy but isn't my preference for a highlighter), but my main problem is that the glitter doesn't stay put. Do not even lightly brush your face or else it will come off on your hand/napkin/clothing and then get glitter on everything else in your vicinity. I've tried a lot of highlighters, and I wouldn't be able to tell that this formula isn't just a random one sold in drugstores. It might work for you if you have the right setting primers and sprays to help it along, are really good about not touching it at all, or just don't mind glitter getting everywhere.

I absolutely love this highlighter. The color blends, fairly melts into the skin and isn't blindingly sparkly. It's a very 'glow from within' sort of highlighter. It does set quickly (like most Armani products) so work quickly to tap this in! Will buy again.

This is a good product overall. I liked the color of it, and the way that it looked on me. The only negative that I could see is that it did wear off and could have lasted a little longer.

Beautiful Highlighter

Thank you to Armani Beauty for sending this highlighter to try for my honest review. I tend to use a powder highlighter in my day to day but I really liked this liquid highlighter. I also tend to travel frequently and I felt it lasted nicely throughout the day. I especially liked that I was able to use it as a lip-gloss and eyeshadow. I would most likely buy again!

Good

I received this to test and give my review. Honestly it is really pretty, doesn’t feel heavy, has a nice subtle shine to it. It serves multiple purposes which makes it worth it. I would recommend if you can afford it.

Gorgeous, subtle, and buildable

I absolutely love this liquid highlighter! Since it’s in a container about the size of a lip gloss, it’s so convenient and easy to throw in your bag or your pocket. It’s a sheer formula that applies so smoothly but it’s buildable and versatile. I use it on my cheekbones and even as a shimmery eyeshadow

Natural-looking glow!

I’ll admit, I’m not a beauty guru—I’m just your average corporate gal who likes to look polished and put-together. But the Luminous Silk Acqua Highlighter in Bronze has completely won me over! The texture is lightweight and blends like a dream, even for someone like me who doesn’t spend hours perfecting my makeup. I usually pat a little onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose after applying my usual foundation, and it gives my face such a healthy, natural-looking glow. It’s subtle enough for the office but still gives me that “wow” factor for after-work drinks. The Bronze shade is gorgeous—it adds a warm shimmer that enhances my skin without looking glittery or over-the-top. I even mixed a drop into my moisturizer one morning, and it gave me a fresh, radiant look for a no-makeup day. What surprised me most is how long it lasts. Shimmer :)

Not only do I absolutely love the color but I love the tinted shimmer. I have not had any absorbing facial itchiness/reaction and my face illuminates all day long without reapplication. I use daily by applying dots on my cheek bones and some concealer to keep it simple and love the shimmery shine :)

Not for me

I was really disappointed with this highlighter. It was completely blah—no shine, no shimmer, nothing. It didn’t enhance or do anything at all, really.

Buildable formula

The Luminous Silk Acqua Highlighter goes on easily and provides a delicate shimmer shine highlight. I prefer more neutral shades, so the gold color of Stellar was perfect for my makeup routine to provide a more subtle highlight. I usually use powder highlights but I did prefer this liquid formula and the ease of use with the applicator. It is not overly pigmented, but a buildable formula if you want a more dramatic shine highlight. I do like it, but faced some issues with needing to add more than I normally do to have a more pronounced highlight. Overall, great formula, buildable, and pretty color.
