My New Signature Scent

I was originally planning on purchasing the Red Roses fragrance. But it smelled a little too light and floral for my taste. The saleswoman then recommended that I try the Velvet Rose, and as soon as I smelled it I asked for a full bottle. It is very deep and beautiful. It gives off "old money" vibes. Th damask rose is strong but not overwhelming. Overall, this cologne makes you feel warm and elegant. It's the first fragrance I have bought from Jo Malone and I will definitely be repurchasing. Important to note that a little goes a long way!

Burns on Skin

Oh my if I'd only started using my cologne sooner I could have returned it. This stuff burns if sprayed on the skin and causes itching and redness. Such a disappoint.

Dark gothic rose

A rich, dark rose enveloped in warm spices sweetened with praline. The perfect gothic fragrance for those reminiscing of the goth clubs of the 80s and 90s with just the hint of clove.

Beautiful Oud Cologne

Velvet Rose and Oud is one of the best entry-level oud cologne for somebody who loves oud but doesn't want it to be too loud as oud often has a very strong projection. This one is subtle and the rose note isn't prominently rosy. It's a perfect balance of the floral and woody notes. Suitable for evening event but not offensive to wear at the office in the morning. Gorgeous.

Love this stuff

I have been buying this now for some time. I totally love it yes it is expensive but worth every penny. Anyone going overseas I get them to bring it back for me as its cheaper duty free. ❤️

My Staple Cologne for Two Years

I am just about to finish up the larger bottle after having it about two years. This was my first JM cologne purchase. I had received some samples of the lighter, fresher scents and fell in love. Whilst at the boutique in Beverly Hills the shopkeep had me sample this Velvet Rose & Oud, initially, I was unsure because it seemed to be too floral, too feminine for me. I couldn't remember which samples I had fallen in love with and after smelling 409 perfumes my head was spinning..so I ended up going with his suggestion of the Velvet Rose. In the beginning I was highly unsure of its scent on me and thought I had made a grave mistake by purchasing it..it just seemed too sweet. However, after continued use it began to ware on me, I would constantly smell my wrists Or my shirt throughout the day. The scent lingered from morning to night and it's true what some say that it mellows out as the day goes on. As I wore the cologne I would get countless comments from friends, family and strangers. Even a dear friend who wears no cologne and claims all scents make him "sick" smelled the Velvet Rose on me and could not stop gushing over the scent, to this day when he smells it he is always so amazed. I recently purchased the Myrrh & Tonka scent to start a new chapter!

Love It

I'm a big Tom Ford perfume fan but I have alMost all of his scents that I love so my TF guy told me to try this. I initially tried the Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne Intense but opted for this. Loved it at first then I didn't ‍♀️This scent s heave but turns light.i wore it in the daytime will also wear it at night. I received so many compliments all day. Almost more than my TF Venetian Bergamot or Scent of a Woman by Dominique Ropion at Frederic Malle shop.I'd say watch out Tom Ford

Sexiest Jo Malone smell

I was in a store that had all of Jo Malone sprays, and I couldn't resist this one. It's more of a night time going out scent, it's very sexy and long lasting. I highly recommend.

Good for layering

I'd been wary of this one because on a rose fragrance kick I read many reviews of my options and someone had described this as being similar to Lush's 'Rose Jam' - I have Rose Jam, and it is incredibly sweet, not what I wanted out of an 'intense' fragrance. But I got a sample of it anyway. The initial burst is indeed super sweet, very much like Rose Jam - then it quickly dies down and you get the smokiness that adds a really interesting texture. It's still not something I'd wear regularly, alone at least - I've been really enjoying it layered with Dark Amber Ginger Lily as an evening/weekend scent, and I'm hoping to find other things to wear with it because I'm not sure I'd like it as much alone, but peeking through another scent it really adds a lot. Another review had called it something like a versatile rose-oud that gets the job done, and I agree

Headache:(

The woman at the counter convinced me to buy this bottle, saying that you get so much more for your money. Well I purchased it and the scent just doesn't agree with me-it's very powerful initially, but it has sat on my makeup vanity untouched. When I did wear it, only one note lingered and the rest faded away. I wish I hadn't been pushed into buying this one, what a shame to spend this kind of money and use it three times, really wish i could try something else instead.

Beautiful fragrance!

This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance! Quite possibly my new favourite Jo Malone scent☺️ Pomegranate Noir is my usual "go to" choice but Velvet Rose & Oud has pushed it off the top spot. Yes....it's a little more expensive but definitely worth the extra few pounds. A tiny amount lasts all evening and every time I wear it, someone always comments on how gorgeous it smells.
