Prep It Self-Tan Priming Spray

+2-3 Days & More Natural Fading

I’m a HUGE fan of Isle of Paradise, the products, quality, and values (vegan/cruelty free). However, this product was not, in my opinion, at the same quality grade as their other products. After having finished my bottle and used this numerous times, I would estimate that on average my tan seemed to last about ~2-3 days longer than it would otherwise. A pro: when using this product, your tan fades in a more natural/gradual manner as opposed to a more splotchy/sudden fade. That said, while I do believe the product works, I expected it to preserve my tan longer (~4-5 days). With this in mind, I definitely don’t believe the product is necessary, however, if you have the extra money and need a few extra days out of your tan for a trip or just want a more natural fade - I don’t see the harm in giving it a try.

HORRIFYING WHITE MOLD (after just a couple uses!)

This product was extremely disapointing. I must've recieved a faulty product from Sephora. I only used this a couple of times (barely a dent in the product - as you can see in the picture), before it grew what looks like white mold! This is horrifying and a waste of money.

Not a miracle but not a waste

Despite mediocre reviews, I purchased this to attempt to lengthen the duration of my tan and reduce streaks. (I use it with IOP tanning drops.) It does slow the fade of my tan, but only by a day or two. Also seems to help with streaking but the IOP brush is MUCH more effective for this purpose. Smells amazing and dries quickly, so you like self tanners but hate frequent application, this is worth a try.

I don’t know if this works or not, but it smells nice. However, the pump doesn’t work, which is super annoying.

Love it! Try your spray pump first

This is a favorite product of mine. And I’ve tried all sorts of tanning products. I suggest you use a little body lotion with it to smooth out the mist application. The only drawback is the actual pump and spray head stops spraying and does not function consistently. This has happened with my last two bottles and I end up swapping out an used/now empty bottle spray head. Other wise it is a fresh natural light application and has great coverage and staying power

This product does what it says- it helps my tan last longer. I have been using the St. Tropez water mousse but it is not a super dark color, so it seemed to become less noticeable quickly, and this helps. I have used almost this whole bottle this summer.... The one thing I can say is that at the end of the bottle where I’m at, it becomes almost impossible to spray this out which is disappointing, because of the way the little straw inside is angled and the fact that it’s a pump. Trying to spray your whole body, you have to turn/adjust the bottle, it doesn’t like that. My plan is to buy a new bottle and use a bit and then just pour this in. Because it is still completely worth it if your tan is fading fast. I do still moisturize dry areas first and then spray this on as the step immediately prior to application. I don’t know if I’m supposed to, but I don’t rub it in- I just let it dry. Smells fresh but the smell doesn’t linger. Worth the money.

Really did make my tan last longer and smells really good too!! Used plenty and still loads left. Worth it!!

Good with St. tropez

I’ve been using St. Tropez express tan for 3 years and the color always looked great but when I changed my birth control my skin chemistry changed and suddenly my tan would only last 2-3 days. I tried this prep spray to try to make my tan last longer and it really worked. I’ve used it several times now and it helps extend my tan to 5-6 days before I need to reapply. I would recommend standing in the shower to apply it though because it does spray wider than the width of your arms/legs. It’s clear so it doesn’t really matter, maybe I’m just picky about my floors. Doesn’t help minimize fake tan smell though unfortunately. The bottle looks barely used even though I felt like i was spraying a lot and have used it about 3 times.

I’ve used about half of the bottle, and still can’t tell a difference when I use this vs. when I don’t. I’ve only used it with IOP tanners, so maybe it would make a bigger difference with lower-quality self-tan mousses??

A must for fake tan lovers

I love self-tanning and I’m really comfortable doing it at this point, so I was a little unsure of how much a “primer” would do for me. I was pleasantly surprised! Sprayed this on before my typical Bondi Sands tan and the next morning I had a noticeably darker and more even tan than I usually would. Also, I’m not 100% sure it was because of this product (I could have just waited long enough for my pores to close after scrubbing the old tan off), but I didn’t get little dark spots in my pores which I usually have issues with! I saw some people complained about the scent- yeah I’m not in love with it, but by the time it was sprayed on my body and I started applying my fake tan I didn’t even notice it. Overall I’d say this is worth it for anyone who fake tans regularly and wants to make their application even more flawless.

Great for period tanning! Makes SUCH a difference!

Discovered I have such a hard time getting self-tanners to work while on my cycle. I tried this and BAM! was back to tanning like normal using this. The pH balancing of it really helps bc being on my cycle just throws everything off, and yet sometimes I need to start prep tanning for an event coming up. Glad I tried this! Helps me feel somewhat normal even when everything about of whack bc my lady stuff hate me that week.

THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!

I bought this and realized it ACTUALLY works! I found my tanning drops would last about 4-5 days without this, but with this the color stays at least 7 days, sometimes longer. I shower everyday too. Plus it smells really good.
