After Baume Moisture Barrier Recovery Cream

So perfect, exactly what I’ve been looking for!!

I was sceptical due to the mixed reviews of this product, but it’s perfect. I’ve been using tretinoin and have extremely dry skin, and this is the only product that I feel actually hydrates my skin rather than just sitting on the surface of my face (even compared to LRP cicaplast). It also leaves such a perfect dewy look in the morning when I wake up after using it! Just bought my second full size container.

Must-have for dry skin

If you have dry skin, you will be so happy to discover this product. My nighttime routine is cleanse (sometimes), moisturizer, retinol, then this over top. It’s a dream. I need a bigger size offering!

Fabulous for barrier repair!

I have dry, sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and I could not love this more. It's what I wish the original La Mer cream was - just as thicck and occlusive, calming and soothing, but unscented and petrolatum-free. I use this morning and evening, all seasons except for the hottest, most humid of days. I am somewhat acne prone and have had no problems with this cream, however I do think it'd likely be far too rich for those with oily skin. As for those reviewers reporting a rash, I suspect it may be a latent but allergy to the babussu nut oil or the cupuacu fruit oil? Probably safe to spot test first!

calming if you don't overdo it

I have very oily skin that can be prone to redness. I use this when I've accidentally overdone it a little with actives, after I've used a clay mask, or after my skin has been exposed to a lot of salt/wind/sun/cold (I work in the maritime industry). I don't use any serums or other products with it besides hypochlorous acid, and I don't use it multiple days in a row. It makes a noticeable difference in my moisture barrier and redness- using it alone gives my skin a chance to rehydrate and calm down. I mainly use this at night, and my skin is always noticeably calmer when I wake up. It seems to heal my moisture barrier much faster than just leaving my skin alone or using other, more targeted moisturizers. I can be acne prone, but I haven't had any problems with breakouts while I've used this.

very thick but great for dry patches

I have combination skin, so my nose gets oily but also has dry flaky skin on it. My skin is also pretty sensitive, so finding the perfect moisturiser is often a struggle. This is my favourite moisturiser. It can feel quite heavy duty and a little greasy, but for dry skin, it is fantastic. Using this daily has caused no irritation to my skin, and has made my makeup go on so much smoother. As it is thick, a little product goes a long way, so this tub lasts a long time. Packaging is also very sturdy and of great quality.

I’ve used this 2-3yrs now. My skin is super sensitive and this calms it right down. I wish this came in a bigger jar 😭😭 I use this even in the summer time. I am in my mid 30s with combo sensitive skin.

Thick, occlusive and luxe but bad for me

Really thick nice barrier but triggered my peri oral dermatitis. I think because it’s so occlusive. However, that’s also what makes this lovely if you’re looking for that.

Thick moisturizer

Very hydrating, extremely thick consistency I used it for winter only. I’m also retinol user and this moisturizer perfect to protect my skin barrier.

I have dry skin and this works wonders on my face. I’m over 40 and love it! I wear it under my makeup and I glow!!

So occlusive it clogged all of the sebaceous gland

NOT FOR NORMAL SKIN! Dry skin only! I have normal skin and after using this for two days my face broke out in bumps! It is so occlusive that it basically clogged all of my sebaceous glands on the face and I just received my diagnosis— severe sebaceous hyperplasia from a dermatologist today. So if you have normal skin, please use a lighter moisturizer

Best moisturizer I have ever used. Leaves my face feeling and looking moisturized all day long as well as overnight.

wow! this product is definitely what it says it is. it is HIGHLY moisturizing and the first time i used it i was shocked at how thick and nice it was. it is sooo creamy and luscious. if you flip the container upside down and shake it, i promise the product will not move AT ALL. i only use it when my skin is feeling especially dry (eg. after i go swimming) because it is almost over-moisturizing. the packaging (which we all know is usually more important than the actual product) is a 10/10 SO CUTE! also a 10/10 on how long it lasts, because although it's a pretty small pot, you only need to use a teeny tiny bit of it. overall, i would highly recommend purchasing this if either your skin is so dry it's about to flake off, or you're in it for the packaging.
